Hi! My name is Melissa Hyatt. I was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland. I moved to New York for college in 2000 and stayed there for 17 years! I moved to Arlington in 2017 when I joined the Barcroft Family. I have been teaching for 11 years. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and middle school social studies! My favorite subject to teach is reading. Outside of teaching, I love hanging out with my dog Kodi, going to concerts, reading (especially on the beach) and rooting for the Baltimore Ravens and the USNA Midshipment football teams!

Hello Barcroft Families! I am originally from Salem, Massachusetts, but have lived in the Washington, D.C. area since 1988. I have had the honor of teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at Barcroft over the last twenty years. When I’m not at school, I enjoy hiking, reading and spending time with my husband and three sons.
