Responsive Classroom

Barcroft Elementary School has pledged to create a safe and stimulating environment for all students. In an effort to continue to improve our school climate, the staff at Barcroft is now implementing Responsive Classroom schoolwide. The Responsive Classroom approach was developed by the Northeast Foundation for Children (NEFC).  The goal is to enable optimal student learning, by incorporating students’ social and emotional growth into their academic learning.  The Responsive Classroom approach has been shown to increase academic achievement in elementary school students, decrease problem behaviors, improve social skills, and raise the quality of instruction.
