Did you know that walking, biking, scootering, busing and carpooling can be good for the environment? Most cars burn gasoline (refined oil) to make them move. This is a fossil fuel which comes from the earth. When it’s burned for energy, it causes air pollution. So, why not walk, bike, scooter, ride the bus or carpool when you can? That’s why our Environmental Club is promoting Walk to School Wednesday!
The Fiesta de la Amistad (Barcroft Friendship Party) will be held this coming February 10th from 6:15 to 8:00 p.m. Come and enjoy this family friendly event, great food, music and fun. Tickets are $5/family, they will be sold on the day of the event or in advance at the school. PLEASE NOTE: This is a family event – no drop offs; students must be supervised by an adult.
Our 5th grade Eagles will leave the nest to head to middle school soon. We know that the middle school transition is both exciting and, at times, overwhelming. During the school year, statewide and district testing is scheduled for students. Information regarding the different tests and dates will be updated throughout the year. In January, our third, fourth, and fifth graders took mid-year Virginia Growth Assessments in math and reading.
