Arlington County has begun making changes to the roadway markings and street signage on S. Wakefield St. to improve pedestrian safety and access near Barcroft Elementary School. The next phase of the project is tentatively scheduled for April 3-7. Please be alert for changes, including new signage restricting parking near intersections to improve visibility and sight-lines.
Join us on Saturday, March 25 from 10AM to 1PM for our annual Spring Garden Project to help get Barcroft ready for Spring.
We need your help to weed, mulch, and plant flowers! Fingers crossed for a beautiful day!
This year, Barcroft’s Book Fair is hosted by Pajama Mama and R.E.A.D. and will be held March 20th – 24th in the Library.
The PTA needs volunteers to work at the book fair. Please sign up!
Did you know that walking, biking, scootering, busing and carpooling can be good for the environment? Most cars burn gasoline (refined oil) to make them move. This is a fossil fuel which comes from the earth. When it’s burned for energy, it causes air pollution. So, why not walk, bike, scooter, ride the bus or carpool when you can? That’s why our Environmental Club is promoting Walk to School Wednesday!
Our 5th grade Eagles will leave the nest to head to middle school soon. We know that the middle school transition is both exciting and, at times, overwhelming. Check out the most important next steps recommended by our counselor, Ms. Demastus, as well as information from Kenmore and Jefferson about their course information sessions in early February.
